Best Poker Rooms for SNGs
I've compiled this short list of the best poker rooms to play SNGs so you don't have to go through all the hassle of depositing and withdrawing until you find a good site to play at. I picked the best rooms based on the number of SNGs running at any given time, the variety of games offered and the ease of competition.
The most important factor to me was the number of games running because if you don't have many games going, the other factors don't matter. The game variety came second for me and the ease of competition came last. Although some sites are generally easier than others, the competition is largely based on your game selection skills and the level at which you play. Two dollars SNGS are going to be easier than $200 SNGs no matter where you play.
With that out of the way, let's start with my number one pick:
1. PokerStars - US Players Welcome
PokerStars has always been known for having the biggest and best tournaments on the internet. There's not another site out there that can compete with PokerStars for game selection, variety of buyins and huge prize pools. Buyins range from $1 to $5,600 at PokerStars and there are a ton of different SNG types.
You can play in regular 9 man SNGs, shorthanded SNGs and satellite SNGs to bigger tournaments. They even have step tournaments where, for just $7.50, you can win your way up to a trip to big tournaments in locations like Chile and Prague. Just download the software and click on the "Sit & Go" tab to see what I mean.
2. Full Tilt Poker - US Players Welcome
Full Tilt is the second biggest tournament room on the list, running hundreds of SNGs every day. You can play in tournaments of all types from standard SNGs to shorthanded SNGs, turbos, satellites, shootouts and matrix tournaments.
If you haven't heard of matrix sit and go's, they are a new type of sit and go where you play four separate SNGs against the same players at the same time. In each tournament you're rewarded for your performance at the table and then after all four tournaments are finished, you're awarded Matrix points and extra prizes based on your overall performance.
3. Party Poker - US Players Not Accepted
Party Poker is the biggest non-US poker site on the planet and they have a very healthy SNG scene. They have all types of tournaments and game types as well as buy-ins that are affordable to all bankroll sizes.
The smallest SNGs at Party Poker start out at just $3 and go all the way up to $5,010. There are regular SNGs, turbos, shorthanded, satellites to bigger tournaments, step SNGs and many more to choose from.
I really like the step tournaments because you can buy in at any level and earn up to $2,000 for winning the step 6 tournament. With step 1 buy-ins starting at $3, you stand to win a lot of money at the Party step tournaments.
4. Titan Poker - US Players Not Accepted
For non-US players looking for a little variety, Titan Poker is a very solid choice. Thousands of poker players call Titan Poker home and SNGs can be found running around the clock.
Titan has a nice variety of buyins with the lowest tournaments starting at just 10 cents and the highest SNG buyins going higher than $200. You can play in standard SNGs, shorthanded, satellites, turbos and more at Titan.
One of the coolest SNG tournaments at Titan Poker are the Fort Knox Jackpot SNGs. These tournaments run all the time and if you win 6 of them in a row, you'll win the progressive jackpot that starts at $50,000 and increases every day. If you don't quite take first every time but can finish in 1st or 2nd place for six tournaments straight, you'll get an extra $750 for your efforts.
