CD Poker Review
CD Poker is the biggest poker room on the iPoker network thanks to its generous sign up bonus, juicy tournament promotions and reputation for strong customer support. The software at CD Poker is functional, easy to use and packed full of features but the graphics are downright ugly. Don't let that hold you back though, because CD Poker has some of the juiciest games on the internet thanks to the newbie poker players it attracts through its casino.
CD Poker Bonus and Rewards System
150% Match up to $500 + $15
All new players at CD Poker will be glad to hear that CD Poker will give you up to $515 in free cash just for making your first deposit. It's a 150% up to $500 bonus plus an instant $15 to play with. That's always a big boost to the old bankroll so don't skip out on this free cash! Just make sure to use the CD Poker coupon code IBP620 when depositing.
The bonus is released in $10 increments every time you earn 1,200 CDPoints at real money ring games and tournaments. Ring games earn points for you based on the amount of rake paid in each hand. Tournaments get you 15 CDPoints per $1 paid in entry fees.
CD Poker VIP Club
There are five levels within the CD Poker VIP Club, each one unlocking more special benefits for VIP players. As you move up in levels, your points accumulate faster, you get invited to bigger private freeroll tournaments and you can earn special VIP-only reload bonuses.
CDPoker.com Software
The software at CD Poker is a mixed bag. On one hand it has nice features and never crashes but on the other hand...well, it's just ugly! The color scheme is pretty outdated and the graphics look like something out of a pirated copy of Toy Story. But whatever you do, don't let the graphics scare you away. The software still supports 8 tables, four color decks, full-screen mode, player notes and much more.
The lobby is nicely organized, making games easy to find. Along the left side of the lobby you can select the game type and stakes, and then view all the tables within that group on the right side. Believe it or not, this is one of the better poker lobbies on the net.
CD Poker Game Variety and Traffic
CD Poker doesn't have a million different poker variants but the games they do offer are nicely done. You can play Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo and 7 Card Stud here at full ring and shorthanded tables. The table stakes are accessible to players of all experience levels:
Fixed limit games start at $0.02/$0.04 and go up to $300/$600.
No limit games start at $0.01/$0.02 ($2.00 buyin) and go up to $100/$200 ($20,000 buyin).
One of the coolest things about the games at CD Poker is the "no flop, no drop rule." CD Poker does not charge a rake if the hand ends before the flop cards are dealt.
Tournaments
The tournament selection at CD Poker is varied with a mix of freerolls, freezeouts, sit-n-gos, rebuys, satellites, jackpot sit-n-gos and more. They regularly hold tournaments with guaranteed prize pools ranging from $150,000 to $250,000. You'll also find all kinds of satellite tournaments that can earn you free entry to major live tournaments like the APT Manila.
The jackpot sit-n-gos are interesting too. If you win 6 of these in a row, you get the progressive jackpot for an automatic $50,000 plus $10,000 for every week that went by since the last person hit the jackpot. This is obviously an extremely difficult task to accomplish but it's definitely something worth checking out if you're a sit-n-go player.
CDPoker.com Competition
CD Poker has some pretty loose games compared to most sites this big. A lot of the loose play probably comes from the players who sign up at the attached CD casino and then find their way in to the poker room. Several other sites on the iPoker network have casinos too so you always have new players hitting the tables.
The high stakes games can get pretty tough, but that's to be expected - especially at the $100/$200 no limit games. People don't build bankrolls big enough to handle those stakes by playing stupid. The occasional fish will wander in to the big games but for the most part you'll find very tough players at those stakes. The low and middle stakes are nice and juicy though.
Support and Security
CD Poker is an established poker site and has already satisfied thousands of customers without a hitch. In addition, they have been licensed by the government of Kahnawake for years now.
Customer support can be reached 24/7, 365 via e-mail, telephone and live chat. No matter when you call, they'll be there ready to help. The support team is actually pretty knowledgeable at CD Poker, which isn't always a given at other poker sites.
